Dee received her BFA in creative writing from Creighton University and is now an MFA candidate with a concentration in poetry. She teaches English Composition 101 centering around texts that display resistance through content or form. Her interests are in Feminist/Queer Theory, how women's bodies and consciousness are portrayed in literature, black women's writing, sexuality studies, modernist texts, and contemporary poetry. She is the recipient of both the Miniace Award for Most Promising Writer and the Young Writers Recognition by the Academy of American Poets. Her work can be found in Aegir Magazine, Bluestockings Literary Journal, Voicemail Poems and elsewhere. Her chapbook, Memoirs of a Broken Housewife, was published in 2013.
